At 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, Amtrak released a travel advisory. Due to a power outage, service between New York (NYP) and Boston (BOS), as well as New Haven (NHV), was suspended until further notice. Affected customers were given the option to rebook free of charge or to request a full refund due to the inconvenience.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been inconvenienced by these delays. More than 750,000 people rely on service between NYP and BOS daily, according to the Boston Herald.
Service resumed this morning, but Amtrak said it anticipated several delays throughout the day.
