Following a series of on-set malfunctions Truman Burbank, the unwitting star of hit reality TV program ‘The Truman Show,’ is attempting to leave the massive soundstage he has spent his entire life in.

After seeing a light fall from the sky, Burbank, 29, witnessed rain pouring only over himself and ran into the actor of his father, who the writers killed off when Burbank was young.

The show’s mononymous creator Christof assigned 24-hour surveillance of Burbank for any erratic behavior, according to a member of the production team who requested anonymity out of fear of losing his job.

The show has been embroiled in controversy since its inception. Human rights activists have condemned the show for broadcasting Burbank’s life without his knowledge or consent.

He’s out — 2:58 p.m.

Truman Burbank has left the soundstage he has spent all his life within. Before stepping out, he looked up towards a camera and said his iconic catchphrase: “In case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight!” His final action on the show? A bow out.


Christof speaks to Truman — 2:55 p.m.

Emanating from the sky, Christof is speaking directly to Burbank for the first time in the show’s history. “I know you better than you know yourself,” he said.


Burbank his soundstage wall — 2:53 p.m.

After the storms, Burbank has sailed into the soundstage’s wall and found a staircase leading out.


Storms on the sea — 2:50 p.m.

Burbank struggles to stay afloat as producers start storms on the seas. A network insider said Christof cued storms to capsize the boat, even as Burbank tied himself onto it.


Panic in production — 2:47 p.m.

In a panic over Burbank’s absence, the production staff started an all-actor search party and rose the show’s sun in the middle of the night, according to a network insider who requested anonymity.


Back on the air — 2:45 p.m.

‘The Truman Show’ has returned to televisions with a shot of Truman sailing. Since his father’s death, fans have assumed he has had a phobia of the water.


Broadcast is stopped for the first time in show history– 2:40 p.m.

After Marlon, portrayed by Louis Coltrane, went to Burbank’s home only to find a hole dug out leading outside, producers cut the transmission for the first time ever. Marlon’s last words broadcast were “he’s gone.”


Burbank is missing — 2:36 p.m.

After the return of his father and the departure of his wife, Burbank has left his house without the knowledge of anyone in production.


Why was his father initially killed off? — 2:28 p.m.

During an on-air interview, Christof explained that Burbank’s father was killed off to further discourage Burbank from exploring the world beyond the small town of Seahaven Island.


Burbank’s father returns — 2:22 p.m.

After the fight, Marlon re-introduced Burbank’s father. At the Truman Show pub, drink orders stopped mid-pour as bartenders and patrons broke down in tears.


Burbank grabs Meryl holding kitchen knife — 2:17 p.m.

Burbank grabbed his wife Meryl with a multi-use kitchen knife after she grabbed it during an argument, only stopped after Marlon interrupted. Meryl looked towards the broadcast’s camera and shouted “do something!” in the midst of it.


Daredevil driving — 2:13 p.m.

With his wife in the car, Burbank drove around his neighborhood, over a bridge, and through a fire on the road. Meryl, played by Hannah Gill, grabbed the wheel as Truman sped over the bridge eyes-closed.


Transportation shut-downs — 2:07 p.m.

Burbank tried to travel using both plane and bus to no avail. A group of die-hard fans at one bar dedicated to the show are debating why he’s trying to leave. “He’s not going anywhere,” one fan said. “He has to have it out with Meryl.”


Production design slip-ups — 1:59 p.m.

Several pictures inside Burbank’s photo album contain major production design slip-ups, such as a disproportionate Mount Rushmore and Meryl Burbank’s crossed fingers in their wedding pictures.


Getting behind the scenes — 1:54 p.m.

Burbank ran into an office building and tried to use the “elevator,” actually a door to an actor break room, before running to best friend Marlon. Burbank says he believes its connected to the sighting of his dead father.


Burbank’s car tunes into production radio — 1:49 p.m.

While driving to work, Burbank’s car accidentally tuned into the production team’s radio channel, where he heard descriptions of his location before every actor froze in place and changed frequencies.
