Billionaire Elon Musk’s private company “SpaceX” plans to launch a GPS III-9 Satellite into Earth’s mid-orbit soon.

SpaceX will use its Falcon 9 reusable rocket for this mission, which will be one of many that have been conducted so far in 2026. The launch was scheduled for yesterday but due to bad weather was grounded from leaving Earth.

A statement from the U.S. Space Force says that the satellites are around 12,000 miles above us, “a network of Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites silently keeps our world running smoothly. More than 4 billion people around the world depend on GPS signals every day.”
